Healthy Breakfast: Organizing Your Work

Having been employed for the past 13 years and moved from one position to another, not to mention the promotions I got from the companies I have worked for, I think I am fairly experienced in organizing my work. I have ensured that daily, I use an organized work pattern to make everything work efficiently and effectively. One secret of having a healthy breakfast is to free your mind from clutter and being organized keeps you away from stress.

Arrive in your workplace on time. No matter how far you are from your workplace, the moment you sign the job offer, you commit to reporting for work on time every day. Eat your healthy breakfast earlier and travel for work earlier too.

Coffee and retouches, only before start of shift. When you arrive early do your personal stuff like making your coffee and retouching your make up. However, be professional to sit and start working at the 1st minute of the start of your shift. Do not come to work and leave your workstation after a few minutes to do your personal stuff. Always remember that having a healthy breakfast is not rushing. Coffee and personal retouch is part of having a healthy breakfast and should not be done during working hours.

Open your calendar and take note of your meetings and appointments all throughout the day. This is showing respect to our people’s time and this increases your professionalism by being on time all the time. This is similar to respecting the people you want to share your healthy breakfast with. You don’t let them wait.

Read and respond to urgent and important emails. It is good to have a separate folder for your bosses and important clients’ emails. Respond to them as soon as possible. Then, read all your other emails but only give importance to the business related ones.

Create an Issues Log tracker. This allows you to list down all your open tasks. You should have the following columns to make it more organized.

1.        Name of Task
2.        Owner
3.        Due Date
4.        Status – make a drop down list (open, in progress and completed)

These are only few things to do to start your day at work. Just like a healthy breakfast organization is important.
